Earlier, the Government of Timor-Leste through the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Agio Pereira informed that citizen Arnolfo Teves Jr. deported from Timor-Leste by administrative decision of the Ministry of Interior, because he was in the country without a valid visa, without legal authorization to stay and with his passport canceled by the Philippine Government.
“The decision has immediate effect, based on national legislation on migration and asylum and based on the risks that the citizen’s stay poses to public order and national security. Quoted Agio Pereira through a press release in Dili, 28/05/2025
Citizen Arnie Teves Jr is facing several criminal charges in the Philippines, including 13 counts of murder, 13 counts of attempted murder and 4 counts of frustrated murder, related to crimes committed between 2019 and 2023, including the assassination of then Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Therefore, considering these facts and according to the Migration and Asylum Law, he was also banned from entering the national territory for a period of 10 years.
