Telkomcel Will Supports Government Programs to Strengthen Social Roles

SAPNewsTL, Dili : For 12 years of dedicated service, Telkomcel has been part of Timor-Leste’s digital transformation. Now, alongside Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão, Telkomcel reaffirms its commitment to supporting government programs aimed at strengthening social roles and accelerating inclusive digital transformation.

As proof of this commitment, Telkomcel has continued to make significant investments, especially over the past three years, in modernizing telecommunications infrastructure and digitalization.

This step not only improves service quality but also lays a strong foundation for realizing the government’s vision of building a competitive digital economy, as well as demonstrating the seriousness of Telekomunikasi Indonesia International S.A. in developing Timor-Leste.

Investment in Human Resources (HR)

Telkomcel believes that the future of Timor-Leste lies in the hands of its best sons and daughters. That is why 95% of Telkomcel employees are young Timorese, with the majority aged between 20 and 35. Managerial positions are also filled by the nation’s best talents, accounting for 75%. Notably, more than 50% of these managers are women, reflecting Telkomcel’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Beyond this, Telkomcel is also focused on developing local talent by providing scholarships and leadership development programs for employees to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Through collaboration with Telkom University (Tel-U), talented students in Timor-Leste also  have the opportunity to study abroad with international-standard education.

Six Telkomcel employees have received the “Best Employee” award from Telin HQ and will undergo training at seven of the world’s top universities, including Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and MIT.
