He added that the criteria for workers to work in New Zealand are generally applied by the Government of Timor-Leste according to the Australian Labor Mobility Program, to provide opportunities for young people to work in New Zealand.
“We apply the same criteria as the Australian Mobility Labor Program, because those applied in countries such as Australia, England, Canada and New Zealand are the same, so the criteria for young people must have language skills and capacity in the area something that is there to get the opportunity”.
Rogério stressed, now the preparation phase that the Government of Timor-Leste is supported by the Government of Australia, means Timor-Leste must meet some requirements to create conditions for New Zealand.
“Certainly the Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment will open vacancies to the public as 55 million workers who are currently working abroad, so the preparation is the Government of New Zealand will visit Timor-Leste so the Government of Timor-Leste through SSVTE will visit New Zealand again to get final confirmation”.
Secretary of State Rogério Araujo Mandonça added, the quota that the Government of New Zealand indicated to Timor-Leste with a total number of 27 million valid for Asia Pacific countries but the priority number of the largest quantity is Timor-Leste, so in 2025 New Zealand will increase.
“New Zealand will recruit 27 million Timorese workers to work in New Zealand, with the reason that our Timorese workers who work in Australia and Korea show good behavior, so employers from New Zealand will recruit Timorese workers according to the process established by the Government” he concluded.
