Hundreds of Timorese Fans Gather to Watch FIFA World Cup Match Between Portugal and DR Congo in Dili

SAPNewsTL, Dili, June 18, 2026 : Hundreds of Timorese football fans gathered in Mandarin, Dili, on Thursday to watch the prestigious FIFA World Cup 2026 match between the Portugal National Team and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) National Team.

The atmosphere at the viewing venue was filled with excitement, as supporters of both teams enthusiastically cheered for their respective national sides throughout the match.

Portugal started the game with high intensity and took the lead in the 6th minute through João Neves. However, DR Congo showed resilience and managed to level the score in first-half stoppage time through Yoane Wissa in the 45+5th minute.

Timorese fans attending the viewing event in Mandarin demonstrated strong interest in the global tournament, particularly in Portugal, led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
